I know that from a feminist point of view, fake boobs are a problem. What do nudists think of this phenomena? Does Nudism as a movement have issues with breast augmentations?
It’s really none of my business what any woman does with, or to her body. That said, I personally believe we do not need prosthetics, or cosmetic enhancements, unless they serve us in a more practical way than simply boosting our vanity.
I dunno. On the one hand, if that’s all it takes for a woman to feel more confident about herself, go for it. On the other, it’s completely irrelevant to real nudists. And finally, if guys could get a surgical enlargement I’m sure there would be a long line at the door. LOL!
I agree with Sam above. Society beats down ads upon our brain every day that we cant be too thin, too rich, or too perky. Those with weak esteem buy into the lie. Why else would we buy sleek expensive cars that give poor gas mileage?
I have no problem with women and fake boobs. Keep in mind I could care less if a woman is flat or not. I think that as nudists you would wish to not be judged for wanting to be nude, so you should not judge a woman for fake boobs. To chalk it up to low self esteem is also unfair. I know non nudist women who have fake boobs and there self esteem is in place. We should not judge anyone on there body, more so on how they act. If womaan with fake boobs behaves with proper nudist etiquette as any guy should, they should be judged on that.
To be honest, one of the biggest laughs I ever got at a nudist resort, was from a women with fake boobs. I was at the pool, and she was walking across the commons area. It was obvious from 50 yards they were fakes. The clincher was when she laid down, and her boobs didn’t.
Every person has a right to his/her own body. The debate on fake boobs could be extended as far as whether or not tattoos and piercings are acceptable. To my understanding, nudism at a young age enhances the body acceptance of a woman throughout the development years which in return allows her to lose interest in image modifications. Nudism at large does not necessarily completely change the way a person looks at him/herself; however, it does give a different perception to those who are looking upon others in a less judgmental fashion so implants don’t really make a difference either way.
Honestly I have met women who got involved in nudism starting in their young adult years and are still looking forward to getting those cosmetic enhancements. This image complex was preexisting and may have a permanent place in her life until she is able to appreciate who she is naturally.
On a personal note, I don’t recommend it for health and financial reasons. Why go through surgery to look “good”? We all look good in our own unique ways.
Melissa—-Although not everything can be simplified, in this case I feel it can be. The difference between a clothed person and a nudist is whether clothes are present. Under the umbrella of nudism or clothed people are many body types and styles. Any person who is accepting of me being a nudist and wishes to be one as well, I am all for this. It would be ridiculous to create a divide by judging one on fake breasts, pubic hair or not, tatoos, piercings or anything else.
So why do so many resorts bar entry to people with piercings, or men and so on? Isn’t nudism about acceptance? Or is nudism just as superficial of a movement as any other? Also, the biggest nudism organization IN THE USA is AANR and if they stand up in the name of body acceptance then who will?
I agree with Melissa also, I have seen both fake and natural breasts at nudist locations. Nobody, and I emphasize noby treated either one any different. They were treated as a person, that’s all. Tatoo’s, piercings, scars, and amputations are all just part of who we are. One of the funniest encounters I saw at a clothing optional resort was when children were talking to a vet. He had had his left leg amputated above his knee. When he removed his prothstesis to relax, and got undressed, four children noticed his lack of a leg. The were just amazed at his leg. They asked him questions for a half hour, they all wanted to touch it, and were just as curious as kids can be. His response toward the children was one of kindness, and understanding. All of us adults tried to avoid noticing his leg…Who was being more honest?
Fake boobs are unnecessary in our environment. So are piercings, shaving, and tattoos. People do a lot of unnecessary things for a variety of reasons. But that’s part of the acceptance we extend to others in order to receive acceptance of ourselves. I’ve seen just about everything. And you know what? I’m fine with it. So are most others.
