I was a very active social nudist before I met my wife. She had two young kids and an “ex” from hell who shared custody. He was always looking for ways to make us look bad to the kids. We used the pool and hot tub naked, letting the kids know that they were welcome to join us, and we made no secret that we slept nude, as my wife and her ex did before me. Gradually, as they got older, they became aware I enjoyed laying out in the sun and was naked more often when they weren’t around. And as older teenagers, they became aware that I was a “card carrying” nudist before and continue to hold those beliefs.
Now as young adults, we talk about it. I have a much better relationship with them then their biological father does. And I hope they raise their families to be at least casual about nudity in their homes, if not downright nudist. At this point in their lives, their bio-dad is pretty much completely out of their lives.
I don’t have kids, but I think this page [BareOaks.ca] is a great resource for anybody who has questions about the involvement of children in naturism. Bare Oaks is a family naturist park in Toronto, Canada.
To complete my point, I have to say that I completely disagree with your ex-wife. I think the opposite. I think naturism is good for children. Naturism teaches respect for yourself, the human body, and builds positive self-esteem and body images. These are all issues that are important for children (particularly adolescents) when growing up.
