Do you think there are too many politics in the nudist community that prevent growth?
I have been involved in nudist activities for several years now and have seen so many battles go on not just with groups fighting for freedom amongst the public but also fighting for territory within the nudist community. For example: Most people are aware of the conflicts between AANR and TNS who share some (not all) like-minded objectives. The same goes for younger groups such as Young Naturists America, Vita Nuda, Florida Young Naturists and Next Gen. Do you think there are too many politics surrounding the nudist community that prevent it from growing any further as a whole?
yes

LikeDislikeOh Hell Yeah.
But you wanna know something? It’s been like this for decades! I collect old nudist magazines and it’s amazing to see the same-o-same-o issues brought up.

LikeDislikeYes! But we form clubs and organizations to give ourselves a Consensus that what we’ve chosen as a lifestyle is ok, there are others like us.

LikeDislikeYet another reason why people are shunning organized nudism/naturism, and going it on their own or with friends to beaches. I for one, am fed up with the way our (US) congress is destroying the nation through political claptrap. Why do I want the same thing in my leisure activities?

LikeDislikeUnfortunately, Melissa, the two are tied together. The key word is Control.

LikeDislikeThere are many ideas out there regarding how the nudist idea need to evolve for the next generation, Some want no change, some want to go places that scare the hell out of the old timers. All ideas are valid, even those you disagree with. Young people should not make the mistake of ignoring the past, old nudists should not fear the future.

LikeDislikeLike anything else, arguments and the ensuing discussions are healthy for growth.

LikeDislikeNudism itself is a controversial argument.

LikeDislikeGood friends and a hottub in there yard may be your best friend.
Especially when you get into the politics of it. Our elected “permission-givers” would rather we all just put our clothes on and shut up! LOL

LikeDislikeThat’s a loaded question–you can’t put 3 people together on a party planning committee without “politics”. Committees, clubs, organizations, corporations, countries are ALL fueled by politics. Everybody has their agendas, personally and publicly. AANR is trying to assume the lead, and be an umbrella for the other groups. However their own interests are divided–on the one hand, many want to promote nude recreation, and bring business to their club owners and affiliates. Others are less club oriented, and want to promote nudism in public spaces. Of course, if you go to the nude beach, you are not patronizing a club–you can see where this conflict of interest is going, and this is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

LikeDislikeGet the right leaders into position and you will have growth!
Ones that can look beyond themselves to the greater good.
Are the two large older organizations responsible for setting the attitude and pace of the young naturists unlanded unaffiliated organizations? Note: Vita Nuda is not affiliated with AANR and FYN is a SIG of TNS
Look at these two large organizations. One would think they would promote ALL the young naturists groups as much has possible as they are our future.
Have you seen that yet?
