Are you a nudist if you are sexually excited by being nude?
My ex-GF admitted the only reason she liked to be nude in front of other people,,,, at nude beaches or nudist parties or other nudist activities,,,, was because it turned her on sexually. Is she still a nudist, or does the addition of sexual excitement negate the whole nudist thing? (Outwardly, there was never any sign of this)
Being a nudist in the true form has nothing to do with sexuality. It’s about being free and unashamed of you are. Accepting others as they are. You said the only reason she liked being nude was it turned her on sexually. In my opinion, “it negates the whole nudist thing” as you asked.

LikeDislikeNo, she’s an exhibitionist. There’s nothing nudist about her. Simply being unclothed does not make one a nudist.

LikeDislikeI would not be so quick to judge her. We are all taught that nudity=sex, so tales of new, or fledgling nudists getting excited about being nude should NOT preclude them from being a nudist–They just have to learn as we did, that it is all about the context of the setting, and learn good nudity from bad.
She’s not getting excited about being nude, she getting sexually excited about being SEEN nude. That’s exhibitionism, not nudism.

LikeDislikeIn my humble opinion, I would have to say that your girlfriend is more toward the exhibitionistic side, rather than so much a nudist. Then on this note, I am not so sure there is a clearly defined line between the two definitions. But I do tend to agree with rabbitnbunny, I believe she is more exhibitionistic than nudist. Does she ever do things nude without an audience?

LikeDislikeYes, it’s sensuous and a bit daring for people who aren’t used to it. And that can be exciting in different ways, including in that way initially. People get sexually excited or not having nothing to do with being naked. Either way, when it’s not appropriate to be excited, it’s not welcome.
