Do nudist teens and children usually keep the lifestyle a secret from others in school?
As a teen naturist about to start school again next year, should I keep my lifestyle hidden? I’ve already had to hide it from a parent because my mother is prudish and wouldn’t agree. I wouldn’t know how to go about this because I became a naturist this year.
I think it’s something to share with your friends and family. You want to be open with them and they may even like nudism themselves. I personally would avoid telling other people as it may be embarrassing or even inappropriate to some people.
Make your life a hole lot easier and tell you Mom you are a nudist. If she does not accept your lifestyle she will support you! (Hopefully i mean she is your mom and all) But for school i would tell your close friends and no one else…
Good luck!

LikeDislikeNo, I don’t think it’s an issue about telling friends that you’re a nudist. Sure, some bullies will tease a person about it, but most people have no problem with some form of public nudity, even if it’s a skinny dip with friends.

LikeDislikeI ask my 10 year old not to talk about it in school as I don’t think he has a solid enough grasp of the issues other people might have and I’m fairly confident he would get bullied over it. My 15 year old is more open about it with her friends. I’m not sure if she tells the whole world, but she certainly doesn’t hide it. Realistically, it wouldn’t come up all that often I wouldn’t think. I’d say the best option would be to play it on a case by case basis. If you’re in a situation where talking about your nudism would benefit the conversation and you feel comfortable around those people, they talk about it.
As an adult, I personally have some naturist organizations listed on my facebook, but I’ve never brought it up to anyone I work with really as there hasn’t really be a situation where it was relevant. If someone’s stalking me on facebook though, they know.

LikeDislikedon’t be ashamed, but don’t advertise it, it’s just a part about you, not your entirety. so if it comes up for some reason, which it probly won’t, but if it does, be open and honest. and tell them the benefits of being a nudist (good body image, and the “you don’t care about how others look so they don’t have to dress to impress kinda thing”). and make sure they understand, it’s not about sex, it has nothing to do about anything involving sex. that’ll be the biggest thing people don’t understand. they have been programed to think naked is sex, so naked is bad in a public setting. and that, well that’s just wrong.
