I think for the overall population, the ratio of minorities practicing naturism is the same as the ratio of all people practicing naturism to the population as a whole. For example, if 10% of the entire country practices naturism, and a given group represents 5% of the (entire) population, you could reasonably infer that only half of one percent of that group would participate in naturism. You should also factor in the location. I frequent Gunnison Beach in New Jersey, and Avalon Resort in West Virginia. The crowd at Gunnison is very diverse, but almost no diversity in WV, where according to Census numbers, nearly 94% of the population is Caucasian.
In addition to the regional demographics, I believe it also depends upon the group attitude of the place you go. The private club where I go is very socially accepting so we have a wide mix of people. As long as people follow the family friendly etiquette, they’re welcome. So it also really depends upon the management and members of the place you go.
Great question, Mark. I’m an American Asian male, and I’ve often wondered why I see primarily Caucasians and very little people of color.
