Doesn't interest in nudism have roots in sexuality?
Everyone’s story will be specific to them but doesn’t the interest in being naked and surrounding yourself with naked people (beaches, resorts) have some root in a person’s sexuality?
Nudists/naturists are quick to separate nakedness and sex and they’re not necessarily incorrect.
But whether you’re a practicing nudist/naturist or you just like walking around your home naked doesn’t all of this come from using your body and nakedness essentually to “feel good” one way or another?
Change the words naked to clothed and see how silly your question sounds. Clothing is artificial and serves only to hide ourselves from each other. We don’t need to do that, it’s harmful, and it’s uncomfortable that we do that.
Yes, we’re sexual, but when and if we express ourselves that way has nothing to do with how, or if, we’re dressed. Naked, we’re only expressing ourselves as ourselves. Dressed, we express ourselves anyway we want to, including sexually.

LikeDislikeOk. I certainly didn’t mean to sound silly or cone across as insulting. I am very interested in this practice but I do worry about everyone else and whatever ulterior motives they may have. Maybe I’m thinking too much.

LikeDislikeNudism actually has no roots in sexuality at all. No matter your sexual orientation, nudism is nudism.

LikeDislikeSexuality is a funny thing. It’s in all of us, and in a way it’s always present in one form or another. Life is sexual. Humans are sexual beings who like to “feel good.”
Nudists don’t engage in overt sexual behavior, but of course we still experience sexual attraction and sexual feelings. The difference is we don’t act on them just because we are naked. If you’re sunbathing in a park, the removal of clothing or a swimsuit does not make the scenario anymore “sexual” than it was before.
Basically it’s all about context. There’s a time and place for everything.
Many people certainly get physical enjoyment or physical pleasure out of being naked, and enjoy the feeling of the air and water on their skin for example, but this isn’t the same as sexual arousal.
The reasons people get into naturism and the type of naturist activities they enjoy also vary a lot. Most naturists are presumably *comfortable* being nude, but not everyone is just after physical pleasure / sensations or even notice how they feel physically while naked vs clothed. After a short time, your senses adjust and you tend to forget you’re even naked.
Here is one YNA article explores the line between nudism and sexuality that I think you’ll find interesting: http://youngnaturistsamerica.com/nudism-and-sexuality-nudist-sex/

LikeDislikeYes we do use our bodies and nakedness to feel good one way or another, but it doesn’t so much have to do with sexuality. Think about this, kids like to be naked and are curious about nudity, but they haven’t yet really developed any sense of their sexuality. Nothing is sexually arousing to them. It just doesn’t exist. It’s just natural naked time happiness and natural curiosity. I’m sure you liked it too. I know I did!
To me it’s more about connecting with nature/God’s creation and bonding with your friends and family. It feels good to be comfortable with yourself and the nakedness of the people you’re with.
